I only get over 75fps on a few games with geometry 3d. The best games for me are based on my below average rig (i5 2.7ghz, 7970, 8gb ram). Also AA seems to slow down the games a lot when using geometry 3d. If still you see double images, try to modify Vorpx ingame IPD. With all games, set them to 1080p first thing. I suggest you check the Vorpx forums, there's a lot of info there. Especially for longer sessions a high framerate is often more important than perfect Stereo 3D. If this means having to switch to Z-Buffer 3D, I would generally recommend that. Too fast mouse look feels quite awkward in the Rift.Īnd last but not least always try to reach at least 60fps. For the three games above the Game Optimizer in the vorpX config app can do this or at least it can tell you how to achieve it.Īlso, as MoarVeeR already mentioned, set the ingame mouse sensitivity quite low in every game (and adjust vorpX's head tracking sensitivity accordingly). Settings wise the most important thing in every game is to set the FOV to 120° if possible. Z-Buffer 3D works well in the distance, the trade-off for the gained speed is a less natural (flatter) 3D effect for nearby objects. This is the only way to get 60/75fps in Skyrim outside. Skyrim (simply has to be mentioned, spent dozens of hours with this one and vorpX before it was even called vorpX.): Some don't like it, but I would recommend Z-Buffer mode for Skyrim, simply because it's twice as fast as Geometry 3D. The slower gameplay of this and similar games suits the Rift better than fast paced shooters IMO. Z-Buffer 3D only, but that works very well in this game. The first two Bioshocks are great too, the mostly claustrophobic atmosphere works very well in the Rift, but exploring the artistically gorgeous Columbia in Infinite is simply mind blowing.
