Specify Kandid, Linn’s reference moving coil cartridge for ultimate performance from your LP12 turntable.Over the last few years, I had read many very positive comments about the work of Audio Origami.Through many years of experience I have learnt not to buy anything based on write ups, however when I took a gamble on buying a Source turntable which came with an Alphason Xenon arm, my first thought on getting it home were to contact Johnnie at Audio Origami and find out about a rewire. The Ekos SE tonearm is the perfect partner for any cartridge. Regardless of whether you are listening to the first track of the day or have been spinning records for hours, the ultra-low friction bearings and temperature-compensated precision-springs ensure that exceptional performance from the Ekos SE tonearm is maintained.Įvery Ekos SE tonearm is precision-engineered to last and is hand-built to the highest quality standard, so that you can continue to enjoy your vinyl collection for decades to come. The arm tube is machined from titanium to reduce resonance and a stainless steel bearing housing ensures precision of movement. These minimise interference, resonance and microphony, meaning you’ll hear even more from your vinyl collection.

Setting a new performance benchmark, Ekos SE features advanced materials carefully selected for their sound performance and low resonance properties. This provides a stable rigid base for your cartridge. The die cast headshell is bonded to the armtube. It incorporates other features and technology born out of extensive research and development. The Linn Ekos SE tonearm features a larger diameter arm tube than the Akito and also improved bearings. Hand assembly and vast experience in arm building will ensure your product performs and lasts for years to come.

Linn use the finest components and assembly processes to meet these challenging design requirements.

As the stylus picks up the information from the groove it must not make the arm vibrate so the structure of the arm must not only be stiff but free of resonances. Any play in the bearings will cause vital information in the record groove to be missed. To do this it must be rigid and use bearings of very high quality.

It must hold the cartridge securely and move freely in the required directions. The Arm is a crucial element in any turntable and has a tough job to do. It comes fitted as standard on the Klimax LP12 and is an excellent upgrade for Akurate LP12 owners. The Linn Ekos SE tonearm is the top arm in the Linn range.
